Position: Head Chef – EASTERN CAPE

SALARIES: Negotiable DoE

Responsibilities:

• Oversee kitchen operations and staff.
• Ensure high food quality and cost control.
• Maintain food preparation and presentation standards.
• Manage staffing and supplies for kitchen stations.
• Coordinate food preparation and delivery.
• Conduct quality inspections and manage inventory.
• Facilitate communication between kitchen and service staff.
• Enforce safety and hygiene practices.

Staff Management:

• Lead food production staff and enhance productivity.
• Monitor daily service and implement improvements.

Additional Information:

• Work Cycle: 11 days on, 3 days off.
• Experience: 4+ years in a 5-star lodge.
• Salary: DOE; benefits discussed at interview.

Requirements:

• Positive attitude and commitment to guest experience.
• Physically fit with good strength and endurance.
• National qualification in Nature Guiding, including walking qualifications.
• Driver’s license and PDP required.
• Effective communication in English; additional languages a plus.
• Experience in a similar safari lodge setting.

Additional Information:

• Work Cycle: 11 days on, 3 days off.
• Accommodation: Shared and single options available.
• Trail Leadership: Backup role preferred; FGASA Level 1 or 2 required.
• Meals and Uniforms: No meals provided; breakfast porridge available; uniforms included.
• Off-Roading: Main tracks used; 4×4 experience beneficial.
• Other Benefits: No additional benefits offered.

The dynamic staff at Bellevue Forest Reserve are looking to add a new permanent member to their team. Bellevue prides itself on teamwork which is based on a commitment to both our Guests and fellow team members.

If you believe you can add value to the Bellevue team, you are flexible and happy to grow with the business please read the following description to understand the skills, experience, qualifications, and attitude required.

The role of Guide / Ranger requires:

1. 1. A positive, energetic attitude.
   2. Willingness to help wherever possible.
   3. High levels of commitment to ensuring a positive guest experience.
   4. Strongly focused on successful teamwork.
   5. Physically and mentally fit with a reasonable amount of physical strength and endurance. Relevant National Qualification in Nature Guiding in South Africa including walking qualifications.
   6. Driver’s license and PDP essential.
   7. Ability to communicate effectively in English, additional languages would be advantageous.
   8. Eager to contribute to the smooth operations of the lodge environment and to be flexible to assist where needed.
   9. Experience at a similar Safari Lodge Operation will be highly advantageous.
